1. Free Directory Listing
FREE Listing on marpoleonline.com - it's as easy as sending us the name of your company and your contact information. This is a free community service, but scroll down for more options to maximize your visibility for super-low advertising prices
Our free listings include your business name and contact information. Potential buyers must know your business name as they are not searchable by keyword. For example, if your company is called ABC Cleaners and you offer dry cleaning services, people searching for "dry cleaning" will not find you however people searching for "ABC cleaners" will find you. For improved search visibility, choose from one of the options below. Businesses must be located in (or very near) to Marpole and are subject to our approval.
2. Basic Directory Listing: $120 per year
A basic directory listing includes 200 characters (approximately 35 words) describing your business. Basic Directory Listings are now searchable by keyword!
3. Extended Directory Listing: $200 per year
An extended directory listing includes 400 characters (approximately 70 words) describing your business. Extended Directory Listings are now searchable by keyword and offer excellent advertising value because the longer your description is, the more keywords you can use.
4. Square Ad Banners: $200 per year:
Banners offer maximum visibility because they appear on every search page, regardless of the search query. For example, if you are a plumber, your ad will be shown for searches for both "plumber" and for "pizza". Our standard ad size is 200 pixels wide
and 200 pixels high. We accept TEXT, GIF, JPG, PNG and Flash ads. Double-sized, triple-sized, and quadruple-sized (skyscraper) ads are also available at great prices! Call us for more information.

For mailed payments, we will contact you regarding ad renewals. For online payments, you have the option of recurring annual billing and may cancel at any time. LARGER AD SIZES ARE ALSO AVAILABLE INCLUDING 200 PIXELS WIDE X 600 PIXELS HIGH (TRIPLE SIZE - $360 PER YEAR) AND 200 PIXELS WIDE X 800 PIXELS HIGHT (QUADRUPLE SIZE - $480 PER YEAR). ANNUAL PRE-PAID ADS WILL BE DISPLAYED HIGHER ON EACH SEARCH PAGE THAN MONTHLY PAID ADS AND LARGER ADS WILL BE DISPLAYED ABOVE SMALLER ADS.
If you're submitting a text ad, simply
enter the text for your add below.
Your ad can contain up to 25 words and
should contain your company name and contact information with
a brief desription of you products or services. If you have a
web site, you may also add a link. See tips for writing effective
ads below.
PLEASE NOTE: Since Marpole Online is
a community web site, ads containing adult themes, such as gambling
or explicit sexual content will not be accepted. Marpole Online
reserves the right to edit your ad for acceptable content.
1. Use clear, direct language and avoid
gimmicks.
2. Identify the unique aspects of your
product or service. What makes your product or service useful,
relevant, better, and different? Call attention to the unique
benefits you offer to set you apart from the competition and to
attract more searchers. Example: "Wholesale prices on brand
names"
3. Use a call-to-action to prepare your
audience for what you want them to do. Make sure that this phrase
is unique and specific to your business so that it is more informative
and compelling and distinguishes you from the competition. Example:
"Register for membership now," "Save on DVDs,"
"Get cheap stereos," or "Join now for 20% discount."
4. Provide your phone number and/or
web site address. Since Marpole Online is a local directory and
guide to local and Vancouver area businesses, a telephone number
is recommended for local businesses [include area code]. When
providing a link to your web site, link to relevant and informative
web pages. Users click on your ad when they are interested in
what you offer. Make it easy for them to find out more by sending
them to a relevant destination (landing) page. Make your landing
page easy and intuitive for the user to understand. Example: If
your ad offers a free product, link directly to a page that clearly
displays that product.
