DEC 2012 — The holidays are a special time of year for everyone. The Marpole Business Association is continuing with the tradition of celebrating the holidays with our eighth annual Christmas in Marpole Village. This event is a month-long celebration of the holidays in Marpole, one which will involve the entire community. This event will add to the festive holiday atmosphere created by the MBA in Marpole over the past few years. Festive winter-themed street banners are on display. Christmas lights on the street trees and white lights on the lamp-posts; Christmas trees planted in the decorative flower pots; Santa
& strolling carolers - all will contribute to a beautiful, holiday-inspired environment. Please join in on some of the activities outlined below, and help make the holidays brighter for
all of us! Our best wishes to you and yours for a wonderful and prosperous holiday season.
Santa Stroll
Santa Claus will make a special appearance in Marpole on Saturday, December 22nd! Between 12 noon and 3 PM, Santa will stroll Granville Street, stopping in shops and handing out candy canes. He may also take gift requests, but only if you've been nice!
Holiday Caroling
The MBA is pleased to have engaged the festive sounds of the Fandango Quartet again this year. The
ladies will provide their wonderful & melodic holiday caroling along Granville St. on all the Saturdays in
December, including on December 22nd. The carolers may pop into your business so please make them feel warm & welcome.
Marpole Cares - Toy & Food Drive
The Marpole BIA is very pleased to be partnering again with Marpole Oakridge Family Place, Marpole
Place Neighbourhood House & Cornerstone
Community Church to help local needy families and children this holiday season. Please encourage your customers to drop off a new,
unwrapped toy, toiletry item, or a non-perishable food item to one of these locations: Royal Bank | VanCity | TD Bank

Other Festive Touches
Window & Building Facade Light Up - The MBA encourages business and property owners to join their neighbours in outlining their shop windows and building facades and rooftops with Christmas lights. This adds to the festive atmosphere in the area during the holidays.
Seasonal Holiday Lighting - The bright lights of Marpole are on. All of the seasonal lighting in Marpole - whether in the street trees or on the light standards - will be kept on until the end of February 2013.
OCT 2011 — The annual Christmas in Marpole Village is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 22nd, from 12 noon to 3 PM.
This festive holiday event involves a Santa Claus Stroll, as well as seasonal musical entertainment on all of the Saturdays in December, to add to the festive spirit of the season.
Help a neighbour in need
The fourth annual Marpole Cares charity food & new toy drive will also take place from mid-November to mid-December, in partnership with Marpole Family Place and the Stone Church. If you'd like a donation box to collect non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys, pleased contact Claudia immediately.

More LED Lights in Marpole!
The Marpole BIA is pleased to announce the installation of more large-bulb, C9 warm-white LED light strings on the poles in the 7900 and 8600 blocks of Granville St.
Each light standard in these gateway blocks will now have 100 LED lights shining in warm welcome to everyone
entering Marpole this holiday season!
All of the seasonal lighting in Marpole - whether in the street trees or on the light standards - will be kept on until the end of March 2010, covering the Chinese New Year and Olympic and Paralympic celebrations.
