2006 Member Survey results

The results of the Marpole Business Association's 2006 Member Survey showed some strong areas of concern for member business and property owners.

Parking was the Number #1 issue of concern for members, followed closely by; Street Beautification & Cleanliness, Graffiti Vandalism, Community Visioning, and Crime & Policing.

The survey results will have a direct impact upon many existing and future programs & projects undertaken by the MBA.

The Board is currently working on expanding off-street parking opportunities in the commercial district.

The MBA is also working with the City on a zero-tolerance graffiti removal program on commercial buildings within the MBA area.

The MBA's two-year effort to obtain new community visioning and planning from the City of Vancouver will be heard in late June as part of the City's consideration of future area planning initiatives and resource allocation.

The Association is hopeful that the City will recognize the overdue need to update the Official Community Plan for the Marpole commercial district and community.
