Rainy Day Sale success

MARPOLE BIA NEWS - JUNE 2008 - The sixth Annual Marpole Rainy Day Sale was a hit with merchants and customers again this year. Merchant participation was up from last year's event, even with the snow from the night before!

Participating merchants had a busy sales day with lots of pedestrian traffic and
interest.

Thanks to all those participating merchants who made the Rainy Day Sale such a success!

About the Rainy Day Sale

The MBA Promotions Committee is pleased to present a spring-time promotion designed to clear out your storage and bring some customers into your store.

The Sixth Annual Marpole Rainy Day Sale, Saturday, April 19th, is an opportunity for you to do some spring cleaning, clear out some of your merchandise, and sell it in a garage sale-style sidewalk sale.

Even if you do not have a retail business, you can participate by offering indoor specials, or Rainy Day Sale customer appreciation day, i.e. raffle or charity draw, coffee & doughnuts.

To promote the Rainy Day Sale, the MBA will be distributing event posters, and placing ads and notices in the weeks prior to the event in the local newspapers and other media.

The Rainy Day Sale will run from 10 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, April 19th, 2008.

The Rainy Day Sale is an area-wide garage sale-style sidewalk event. No need to search the city for garage-sale deals and finds - they can all be found in one location. See you at the Marpole Rainy Day Sale!

Merchant Information

Participating merchants will be displaying their wares on the sidewalks, and others will be offering in-store specials and promotions on their products and services. You can park and browse through merchant stalls, starting at 10 AM (until 3 PM) - rain or shine!

If you are interested in setting up a table in front of your favorite merchant for this sale, please contact the MBA office, at 604-418-8232, or contact the merchant directly for permission.
