Street Banners in Marpole
New Marpole street banners
NOV 2010 — Winter has arrived early this year. The MBA has produced two new street banner designs to reflect the changeover to the winter season. Diane Petheriotis and Ragnar Bertelsen have designed our MBA banners for the past ten years. For this new set of banners, they were looking to design a banner with some fun and whimsy - something that would make people smile. The dancing snowmen and cool penguins certainly fit the bill for fun and whimsy. They will be a change from previous banner themes, many of which have incorporated the MBA tugboat logo. The Board of Directors decided to produce both sets of designs, which will be installed in alternating pairs of banners along Granville Street between 63rd and 71st Avenues. They will be a welcome addition to the street as we look forward to this special La Nina winter forecast of cold and snow.
New fall banners grace Granville Street
OCT 2010 — The Marpole BIA is very pleased to unveil its newest and brightest street banner design for this fall season. Designed by Ragnar Bertelsen and Diane Petheriotis, the new banners illustrate our MBA theme of tugboats, evoking our community's historic connection to the Fraser River. They also include, for the first time, our website address, which houses our searchable member business directory and MBA & community event information. These colourful banners will be in place until this winter season, and will reappear in the fall of 2011.
