Summerfest 2008 Entertainment

There will be a wide variety of fun, family-oriented entertainment at this year's 8th Annual Summerfest event.

There will be two locations for the Rainbow Facepainters this year, and Peanuts the Clown, Juggler Sand Northrup, Magician Bobby Loonie, and Sylvia Mathies, balloon artist extraordinaire, will add their talents to the festivities as they rove along Granville Street.

Returning this year is the KidsZone Fun Fair on 67th Avenue, complete with bouncy castle, and - new this year! - the Art Express Bus. Returning again this year will be the Solar Power Roadshow, presenting a variety of eco-friendly activities and crafts.

Many talented musical acts will also be present to liven up the atmosphere along Granville Street.

These include members of the renowned celtic band Tiller's Folly, jazz musicians the Doe Bender Trio, rock n' roll duo Noah Nine, the Johnny Ferreira Band, and Ragtime Ron and the Riverboat Ramblers.

This year marks the return of the very popular classic car Show & Shine for its third year. The Show & Shine will be located at the Safeway parking lot.

Arts and crafts displays will be located throughout Granville St., displaying local artists' handiwork.

The Vancouver Fire and Rescue Department, Marpole Community Policing Centre, Marpole Museum and many other local groups will also be participating.
